A Night of "Torcher": Stonebwoy Ignites Adaklu with Music, Birthday Cheers, and a GH₵100k Donation

The Adaklu Youth Resource Centre was transformed into a rhythmic furnace on Thursday night as thousands of fans gathered for the "Torcher Experience" concert. Headlined by

Afro-dancehall icon Stonebwoy, the event was more than just a musical showcase; it was a dual celebration of Ghana’s 69th Independence and the artiste’s birthday, marked by a powerful commitment to regional development.

Estimates from the Burniton Music Group indicate that over 30,000 fans packed the facility, far exceeding the initial expectation of 20,000, with many supporters remaining at the venue until 05:30 am.

1. The Grand Entry: A Cultural Spectacle

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch the moment the speakers began blaring the powerful Ewe anthem, “Mele Gbagbe Há Wo le alia.” Stonebwoy’s entry was a masterclass in symbolic choreography:

  • The Procession: He was ushered onto the stage by men clad in white, wielding long sticks—a nod to his traditional roots.

  • The Crowd: A sea of phone flashlights illuminated the stadium as fans sang along in unison.

  • The Energy: Despite reported intermittent sound challenges, the "Bhim Nation President" maintained a high-octane performance that kept the crowd cheering for hours.

2. Birthday Honors and Parliamentary Recognition

Since the concert coincided with Stonebwoy's birthday (March 5), the night featured a special celebratory segment. A delegation including Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, and MPs Edem Agbana (Ketu North) and Edem Kpotosu (Ho Central), joined the artiste on stage.

  • The Citation: Presented in recognition of his global impact and contribution to youth development.

  • The Cake: A massive birthday cake was cut mid-set to a stadium-wide rendition of "Happy Birthday."

3. The GH₵100,000 "Seed of Hope"

In a move that solidified the event’s theme of "youth empowerment," Stonebwoy made a significant philanthropic gesture. He donated GH₵100,000 as seed funding for the Volta Youth Development Fund.

The Impact of the Fund:

  • Objective: Supporting young entrepreneurs and creating job opportunities within the Volta Region.

  • Context: The donation follows Stonebwoy's recent enstoolment as Togbe Dunyo I in Adaklu Goefe, where he was also gifted land for his "Stonecity" development project.

4. A Vision for "Stonecity"

Prior to the concert, the traditional authorities of Adaklu Goefe announced the gifting of land to the artiste. This project, dubbed “Stonecity,” is intended to serve as a hub for tourism, youth empowerment, and creative arts, further cementing Stonebwoy’s legacy as a cultural ambassador for the region.

The Bottom Line

The "Torcher Experience" proved that Stonebwoy’s connection to the Volta Region is as spiritual as it is professional. By blending a high-energy birthday bash with a substantial investment in local youth, the "Oxygen City" of Ho has set a new benchmark for how entertainment can drive regional development.
